I am a Brand Strategy Director and former account executive who fell upon advertising because of an interest in putting black and brown stories on-screen.
With over 12 years in advertising and communications, I've had the opportunity to relentlessly champion women, challenge cultural norms and overturn stereotypes on behalf of iconic brands like Under Armor and Shea Moisture.
Beyond my passion, my expertise to win new business, drive a brand's business and shape its cultural relevance has lead me to work across a range of industries and clients — from beauty, tech, social justice and finance, to food & beverage, CPG and QSR for Droga5, 72 and Sunny, Co Collective, Johannes Leonardo, McKinney and Sparks & Honey. Clients include Google Pixel, Indeed, Visa, Prudential, Chase, Google, Volkswagen, Ore-Ida (Kraft) and Pizza Hut, among others.
Outside of work, I have contributed to diversity and inclusion programs, including teaching strategy for Droga5's inaugural D5in10 Academy; mentored upcoming talent with Manhattan Early College School (MECA) for Advertising and the Multicultural Advertising Intern Program (MAIP); launched an internal agency diversity zine (at Droga5) called !Q; served as the managing editor for CRWN magazine's third issue, Money and Power; participated in Made in NY's creative entrepreneurship bootcamp (2018); spoke at CES 2018 about the importance of cultivating diverse talent in creative fields; and shot and edited mini documentaries about Mipsterz and the rise of U.S. Virgin Islands soca.
